Niner – 2009 AIR Nine

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

Here is a Scandium Air Nine that we just built up for a new regular customer.   This is his “2nd” bike.  Which is to say that he has 2 really nice bikes. Both of which are 29″ wheeled.

The Blue is new of 09′.  YES it GLOWS IN THE DARK!!

Fox F29er fork, Sram, Stans.. etc.  Killer bike.

YES, WE LOVE NINER BIKES:

2009 Cannondale F29er One

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

For 2009 we will be stocking Cannondale’s top end 29er hardtail.  This bike is 24.03 LBS out of the box.  Not bad for a 29er.

Some cool things about this bike:

  • Stans Rims.  Tubeless 29er at LAST!
  • XT Servowave Discs.  These will stop you in a hurry
  • BB 30 Cranks!!  Stiff AND Light
  • XT Rapid fire (i think they work better than XTR)
  • 24 lbs.

Not so cool in my book is the insanely low profile Conti tires.  These are just bigger than the tires on my cross bike.  This is a mt bike is it not??  I am sure this is a weight thing but c’mon!  The puke green is love it or hate it.  We hope folks love it as it is the only color option..

Salsa – El Mariachi SS or Geared

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009
Chris loves him some SALSA!

Chris loves him some SALSA!

For 2009 we have made a bigger splash with SALSA cycles.  We have been on a heavy 29er kick and these guys are into it.

This sweet red frame is for our good friend Walt.  The color is so sweet.

The neat thing about this 29er is it’s ability to easily be run as a SS or geared bike.

Salsa Fargo!

Monday, December 15th, 2008

Here are some pics of the 1st Salsa FARGO to come though the doors. Bob built this up to his careful specs and I can’t say enough how impressed we are with the build.   Salsa’s  “ride and smile” certainly  applies here.

Great build Bob! Ride safe where ever your Fargo may take you!

Salsa Cycles For 09′

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

..so after dabbling a bit with Salsa Cycles in 2008 we have decided to step up and become a full fledged dealer in 2009.  The first round of complete bikes will be coming in March but we have seen and ridden a few already.  We will be concentrating on the 29″ wheeled mt bike but a few others may be sneaking in as the year goes on .

We have had a very strong sales history with the Salsa components so the frames and complete bikes make sense for sure.

Have a look at their complet offering here:

Mercer Cup 08 -Mudfest!

Monday, November 17th, 2008
Fred Brown with Cannondale Cross PRO Tim Johnson

Fred Brown with Cannondale Cross PRO Tim Johnson

The Mercer Cup came around again this week and it was as muddy as it could get.  I can’t really put it into words just how hard it was or just how crappy the conditions were.  I can say for sure that it was still really fun and a super test of will power & strength.  For me the running was the hardest part by far.  I am not a runner nor will I ever be.  My heart rate spiked each time my feet hit the ground.  That being said I rode more than most guys.

Fred Brown (WWW.MTBNJ.com / Halter’s) killed it both days.  Fred is on fire this year.  He lost a ton of weight and has done all the right things to come back much stronger for his 2nd year of cross racing.

This race was very well attended and we saw support from many of the brands we love:  SRAM, Zipp, Crank Bros, Thule, and Craft come to mind.

If you missed this race you missed a lot of fun.  See you all next year.
